Chris's Kona

My original 'This Bike' Started life as, after I broke my GT I-drive again, enough was enough and after riding Simon's Fire Mountain around a little bit of Thetford Forest I decided that it was time to go back to Hardtails.

The above picture is a rare picture ... this bike with no mud on it

September 2000	Damage the main pivot in my GT I-Drive, good old Paul gets me a deal on a Kona Muni Mula Frame
End of Sep 2000	The bike is on the trail and riding faster than ever
November 2000	Damage BOTH hamstrings ... spend the next four months just looking at the thing :-(
22 June 2002	Missed a few out here I think but this is the latest. Change the Judy forks for Duke XC, Kore Stem (always hated the way the Kore label moved when wet and then could not be removed when dry) replaced with a shorter 80mm Raceface, a cheap set of risers put on the bike so that I could see how she handled with risers on. Cheap set of flat pedals put on to make it more like my jump bike
29 June 2002	Cheap flat pedals replaced with Azonic A Frame Magnesium
25 August 2002	Placed the Avid Mechanical Disc brake from the Coyotte, Race Face Cranks from Coyotte placed on the Kona and a new Set of Panaracer Fire XC tires put in place. At the Dusk till Dawn race found that most of the riding was fireroad so swapped the tyres for a set of Prototype Michelin Sprint S (thanks Paul) which worked real nice. Mavic CrossRides replaced with a set of F519's on Deore hubs
29 August 2002	Avid Mechanical disk brake rattled like hell so replaced with a Magura Louis
